Lecture in the Klosterkirken
In the autumn, there will be 3 exciting lectures on some of the big questions we encounter in life. The lectures will be held in Klosterfløjen, Kirkepladsen 1. If you are interested, mark the date in your calendar. Everyone is welcome. In connection with the lectures, soda, coffee/tea, and cake will be served. There is no cost to participate. Just come with an open mind and become wiser.
The second lecture will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at 19:00 with Christian Juul Busch as the speaker. Christian Juul Busch has been a hospital chaplain at Rigshospitalet for 33 years and retired in 2022. The focus of his work has been conversations with patients and their relatives who have experienced serious illness, accidents, and traumatic experiences. The lecture is titled “From Maude to X Factor – how do we cope with burdens today compared to the past?” It is particularly important for us today to feel that we have control over our lives and can choose freely. This is partly a result of the development of medicine and the welfare state, that the late modern person feels such a high degree of control over life and avoids the thought of powerlessness. We will examine how we humans react when we encounter a situation we cannot change. There is an epidemic growth in stress and burnout, referred to as the “diseases of the project society.” The growth in stress and burnout is closely related to the core values of late modern society.
