Lecture in the Klosterkirken

This autumn, there will be 3 exciting lectures on some of the big questions we encounter in life. The lectures will be held in Klosterfløjen, Kirkepladsen 1. If you are interested, mark your calendar. Everyone is welcome. In connection with the lectures, soft drinks, coffee/tea, and cake will be served. There is no cost to participate. Just come with an open mind and become wiser.

The first lecture will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 7:00 PM with Niels Christian Hvidt as the speaker. Niels Christian Hvidt is Dr. theol. and lecturer in existential and spiritual care at the Syddansk Universitet. The lecture is titled “What is the meaning?”. Man does not live by bread alone, it is said metaphorically. Extensive research shows that one of the most important things for a good and fulfilling life is that we experience life as meaningful. This becomes particularly significant when we are challenged in life. When we lose a family member, a child, a spouse, a parent; when we get divorced, or when we are affected by illness or another crisis – we seek something to find meaning in, something to hope and believe in. Something that can nourish our life and longing, which cannot be satisfied solely by medical attention. Niels Christian Hvidt is in the process of exploring how this is the case in Denmark, thus finding himself at the intersection of faith, meaning, and science.
